I Just Love a Cool Coastal Walk

Whenever I have a spare weekend, I just love to get away from the chaos of my life and head to the coast. For me, there is nothing better than a quiet couple of days that includes a cool coastal walk, and I’m going to tell you why it means so much to me.

You see, a lot of you will probably live in a city or large town surrounded by noise and buildings as well as all of the pollutions that come with it, and that’s not good. I feel as if the level of stress in my body is huge, so that’s why I just enjoy getting away from it all so much. Nothing can beat that sea breeze, hearing the sound of the grass blowing, even the smell of the sea is something that I just suck up deep into my lungs every time I venture to the coast.

What is also cool is the way in which I can just throw some clothes into a bag and be ready in no time at all. I know what the weather is like, and there’s no need to dress up for anything as it is all about relaxing and being in nature. As you can see, I’m not exactly dressed for work or a night out on the town, but that suits me just fine. Some comfy pants, something to keep me warm in the chill of the wind, and comfortable footwear and I’m good to go.

I feel that this kind of short break just allows me to be free and just amble along the coastal path without a care in the world, and how cool is that? It is a time to just be in the moment, to allow my mind some downtime from all of the crazy thoughts that dominate throughout the week. As I walk along, I can feel my batteries recharging with every single step and I feel alive once more.

At times, I also love to just sit and watch the sunset with the sound of the waves crashing against the shore beneath me. This slower pace of living just appeals so much when things are largely frantic around me, and anyway, who doesn’t love to watch a stunning sunset when they have the chance?

What I want to get from this post

I think that’s what I want to get from this post is to put across the idea that you do not have to travel far and wide or go to some exotic land to seek that sense of peace and tranquility that we are often seeking. Often, it can be pretty much on your own doorstep, and yet we are largely ignorant of what is around us.

Take the location that you see in these images. This place is a 90-minute drive from where I live, and yet it may as well be on the other side of the world. I walk for miles, and no matter how often I visit there is always something new that catches my eye and I feel elated at having spotted it.

Now, some might argue that going back to the same place over and over again is pointless, but I disagree. Actually, I would argue that for a weekend break, knowing that you love a particular place, for whatever reason that may be, is the best reason to go back there on a regular basis. To travel is to just go somewhere else that is not your home, so if it is a short drive away and it does something positive for you, then go for it.

Remember that the world is your oyster, but where that oyster is located or even how big or small it is will be your choice alone.
